Following the initial enquiry, a custom quote and availability confirmation will be provided.

01 - Initial Enquiry

Following your enquiry, project details including timeline, deliverables, location, and creative direction are discussed to ensure the illustration approach aligns with the publication or campaign. Gemma will then send through an invoice and contract. Work will not commence until the contract is signed and any required deposits are paid.

02 - Creative Direction

Reference imagery and editorial concepts are reviewed to establish the visual direction, composition style, and overall atmosphere of the work. A few ‘thumbnail sketches’ are sent for you to decide on your preferred composition, layout and pose. Once confirmed, Gemma will begin on the refined illustration.

03 - Illustration & Development

Illustrations are developed digitally using industry standard platform Adobe Fresco. By mixing new technology and traditional techniques in watercolour, gouache and ink, Gemma’s works visually communicate movement, silhouette, texture, and expressive detail. 

04 - Refinement & Delivery

Final artworks are refined and prepared for their intended format, whether for editorial, digital campaigns, social content, or print. Small details including colour changes can be modified free of charge, however any refinements requiring re-drawing, including change of mind on the agreed upon composition, are available at an additional fee.

Small revisions including block colour changes can be modified free of charge, however any refinements requiring re-drawing, including change of mind on the agreed upon composition, are available at an additional hourly fee. A maximum of 2 revision rounds per project is enforced.

Editorial work is illustrated digitally using Adobe Fresco, unless otherwise agreed. Gemma predominately uses digital watercolour and gouache for editorial projects.

Payment Terms

A non-refundable booking retainer is required to secure all projects and event dates. Remaining balances are invoiced prior to project commencement unless otherwise agreed.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all artwork and illustrations created by Gemma Moran remain the intellectual property and copyright of the artist. Commissioning artwork does not transfer ownership or copyright unless explicitly stated within the project agreement.

Artwork may not be reproduced, resold, edited, distributed, used commercially, or utilised for marketing, advertising, merchandise, or promotional purposes outside of the agreed licensed usage outlined within the project contract.

Any extended usage, reproduction rights, exclusivity, or commercial licensing requests must be discussed and agreed upon prior to use.

Travel for events, activations, editorial projects, and weddings is available both within Australia and internationally, subject to availability.

Any applicable travel and accommodation expenses will be outlined within the project quote prior to booking confirmation.
